Obama is using the "yes we can" slogan, which is a take off the Latino get-off-your-ass chant of "si se puede."
I first heard that chant at soccer games at Soldier Field, and it's as good as the "Ole, ole ole ole" that I heard at a Shane McGowan concert and at an Ireland game at World Cup USA'94.
